Massive, massive Evil Dead fan here. So much so that I have thoroughly enjoyed every Evil Dead game ever put out, despite knowing that some of them weren't really up to snuff. Thankfully, the next game based on the franchise is looking pretty neat, even if the trailer gives us no information on it other than its going to be pretty faithful to the original film and it's on iDevices.
That's actually pretty awesome in my opinion. The first film in the series often gets shadowed behind the subsequent two, which had Ash kicking ass and taking names with his boom stick. Plus, I can't wait to see how they handle a certain scene involving a tree and a woman's hoonanny. Not sure interactivity will really improve that... or get past the folks at Apple.
We got in touch with the guys behind it, who go by The Evil Dead App Team, but they are being tight lipped. All they would say is that it's coming out later this year, it is officially licensed, and that there will be plenty of gore.

Mobigame, sees an opening and it may take it. At least that's what one of the many companies targeted by Edge Games over the use of the word "Edge" says. The developer who created a game for the iPhone called "Edge," tells Eurogamer that it may seek legal action against Tim Langdell and his company.
\\ "It is not over yet," Mobigame CEO David Papazian told Eurogamer.net. "Now we will continue to support the EA in the fight against Tim Langdell. The next step is that all of its trademarks abolished USPTO."
\\ "After that, he can not hurt anyone, he added."
"We are still thinking to start a legal action against Langdell to claim a reparation for the prejudice," Papazian claimed. Read More

It 'of SA games! It 'SA portable device performance! It 'SA a huge failure.
Everybody likes playing videogames on a handheld device, and everybody likes being able to access the Internet from their pocket. So doesn't it make total sense to put them all together into one superdevice?
That doesn't stop would-be competitors from trying again and again, though. This week, it was Panasonic announcing Jungle, a handheld computer built for running massively multiplayer online games.
So it seems that we're going to do the same old song and dance, let 'S walk through the history of handheld convergence.
game.com (1997)
Game.com was the first full game system released by Tiger, maker of the dedicated LCD handheld games sold in toy stores.
Released in 1997, game.com was full of good ideas -- in theory. Most notably, it had a touch screen and stylus pen, which Nintendo DS would use to great effect nearly a decade later. It could connect to the Internet for text-based web browsing and email, although it required bulky extra hardware and a monthly fee to do it. Pretty advanced for 1997, so of course it really didn't work that well.
Tiger really didn't seem to know what its audience was. The grown-up functionality and games like Resident Evil seemed to be aimed at adults, but like all of Tiger's products game.com was only sold in the toy sections of department stores. It fizzled out fast.

Ballard will be in charge of the company's wide digital distribution business as it pertains to PC, console, handheld and mobile games; online titles, including social games, owned and operated MMOs and "light persistent worlds"; and TV-delivered and on-demand streaming games. That leaves a lot to consider, but we'd be satisfied just to get a lot more Batman DLC for the next one. Make it happen, Ballard.
Additionally, the new vee-pee will oversee Turbine, creator of The Lord of the Rings Online , and has been tasked with recruiting a new GM for the studio.
More recently, Ballard can be found in the warm armchair CEO Transpera, mobile video advertising network. It 's also held executive positions at Capcom and now-defunct digital photography, the developer of the famous "contentious " early '90s FMV classic, Night Trap . You know, the genre is making a comeback with iPhone ports ... Make it happen, Ballard.
