The noise around OnLive out this year 's E3 was surprisingly positive, though minimal at best. s service 'biggest news of land, so that people can subscribe to a free year thanks to AT&T. I'm sure many of you have hopped onto the waiting list for that (guys?), but maybe some of you are waiting even longer until you can use their Microconsole in order to play the games on your television.

You shouldn't have to wait too much longer as OnLive's head Steve Perlman says that the little orange and black box should be available by the end of 2010. "When we get to what we call 'cruising altitude' -- this is the bumpy takeoff -- we can introduce the Microconsole. It's a walk before you run sorta thing. Frankly, this is the quietest -- well, it's not the quietest, but it's one of the quieter times of the year for gaming -- the fourth quarter is the really big ramp up." He went on to confirm that the home system would indeed be here before 2011 and that OnLive is hard at work at getting everything running as smoothly as possible.

From people I know who have used OnLive they seem to have pretty positive things to say and that free year is really tempting. Oh, and as an added tease the service is already working for beta testers on iPad, iPhone and Android. Anyone planning to jump in?
